IF YOU'RE IN NURSING SCHOOL AND FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, READ THIS FIRST
To a Remarkable Future Nurse,
I wanted to take a moment to send you some encouragement and remind you of how incredibly proud I am of the path you have chosen and the immense effort you are putting in every single day.
Nursing school is not for the faint of heart; it is intense, exhausting, and designed to push you to your absolute limits. There will be late nights studying until your eyes blur, challenging clinical shifts, and moments of doubt where you might wonder if you can really do it. Please know that all of these struggles are a normal part of your journey, and they are shaping the resilient, compassionate, and skilled healer the world is waiting for.
You are developing the strength to remain steady in chaos, the knowledge to make critical decisions, and the empathy to provide comfort when fear is heavy. Every page you read, every skill you master, and every patient interaction is a step closer to earning that badge and making a profound difference in people's lives when they are at their most vulnerable. As Maya Angelou said, people may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
Remember your "why"the reason you decided to become a nurse in the first place. Hold onto that passion. It is not an easy road, but it is a uniquely rewarding one. As Florence Nightingale described it, nursing is an art, and arguably the finest of the fine arts.
Give yourself grace for not knowing everything yet; you are still learning. Focus on progress, not perfection, and never lose an opportunity to keep learning throughout your life.
You've got this. The sacrifices you are making now will be worth it a thousand times over when you are standing confident in your scrubs, making the world a better place one patient at a time.
Keep going. The world needs your unique kindness and strength.
With so much belief in you,Whenever it gets too heavy, come back to your "why." That reason deep inside that led you to choose nursing. Let it ground you. Let it remind you this journey is worth it not just for a degree, but for the lives you’re going to touch.
You’ve got this. Seriously.
And one day soon, you’ll look back and be so damn proud you didn’t quit.
Keep going. You’re needed.
From someone who truly believes in you.
